An digital acrylic painting "Fish and Lilies"

This is a graphic that I was playing with and it came out pretty good.  I used Corel Painter Essentials acrylic brushes.   I was inspired by a website of a painter and I thought it would be fun to try to do something similar.  I call this Fish and Lilies.  I didn't have anything in mind in the beginning and after I finished, it looked like little fishes in a pond.  After looking at it for awhile, I decided that it would be a good graphic for gift wrap paper.

Title: Mt. Shasta Masquerading as Mt. Fuji

This is my attempt at making my own Japanese print.  This comes from a trip I took up the Oregon coast and on the way back, my mother and I drove past Mt. Shasta and this is from a few pictures I took there.  It took me awhile to figure out how to make it look like a woodblock print.  I think it came out fairly well.  I'm working on making another one now and hope to have it done soon.  I used Photoshop.

CD of a Non-existent Band

This first graphic is the front CD of a non-extent rock band.  The second graphic if for the actual round CD.  I am almost entirely satisfied with what I did as it almost looks as I had originally envisioned.  My idea cam from the noun "rock band" so I used pictures of rocks and a picture of a rock wall taken in Yosemite.  I used Photoshop and Illustrator.

A picture made in Photoshop

I don't have a title for this really; for now it is called Stormygraces.  Again I used photos I had taken at Hearst Castle, clouds at sunset, and the statue.  Then I manipulated the colors and the foreground as well as the water to make it look darker and more dramatic.  This is all Photoshop which was ultimately printed on large format printer paper.  This is a photo of the final result.

Title for this graphic is Shellgame

I was inspired by a fellow student who used pictures of shells with a sandy background for a book project and added writings from Anne Morrow Lindberg's "Gift from the Sea", a book I really liked.  So I took pictures of some shells I had at home as well as sand, swimming pool water, a seahorse and scanned crumpled tissue paper.  I used Photoshop for this.

Mushroom Cloud

I made this in response to a class I took in which we were to make a design based on a play on words.  I made something else for the class but I wanted to do another one so this is the result.  It it also a reaction to the political climate at the time.  Another title for this is "Is this what we are supposed to be afraid of?"  I used Photoshop exclusively.  My cloud came from a mushroom picture I had taken earlier.

Chinese pizza

This is a template that I made as a small box of pizza.  I had a few pictures of Chinatown in San Francisco and I don't remember exactly how I came up with pizza with a Chinese theme; I thought it was creative.  I used Photoshop for the pictures for manipulation then placed them into Illustrator for fine-tuning and for the template for the box.  Then I placed the file into Indesign and had it printed.  I am mostly pleased with the result and I may try to do another one in the future.
